Book Presentation in Class

On Wed, November 27th the class began to present the books chosen by individual student and based on that combined into groups. I’ve chosen "What color is your parachute". The book by Richard N. Bolles. I would say is a guide that takes you from the point in your life when you are a fresh graduated student, laid off from your recent job or just totally unhappy with what you are doing and finally decided that is time for changes. Three first chapters help you how to do the research of your interest, where and how to look as well as examples of author and people's that came across him experience.

The following part of the book teaches you the entire applying for job process, from creating a professional resume thru the interview itself and very helpful part about salary negotiations.
The book includes sections about starting your own business and how to get a job when you are over 50. A significant part of the book is dedicated to exercises, like for example your own skills evaluation
I recommend the book for these, who have no clue how to take the first steps to begin their adventure in the adults' world, however after seeing the presentation of "You majored in what?" seems like this book would be a better choice for me.

  3. That book is really similar to the book that my group presented "You Majored in What?". I like what you say about the book "totally unhappy with what you are doing and finally decided that is time for changes". I agree with you. At the beguinning most people when they start thinking what they want to be in life, sometimes they make decisions that doesn't go with their future, that's when sometimes books like this can push the person to finally decide that is time for changes.
